As a self-proclaimed expert on the Faroe Islands, this travel blog has naturally developed a strong focus on the archipelago – my absolute favourite place in the world. It’s the one destination I know like the back of my hand, and where I feel most confident offering travel tips, itinerary ideas, and advice on stunning hikes and lesser-known spots.
My deep knowledge of the Faroes stems from 14 visits since 2013, as well as an independent research endeavour focused on the abandoned settlements from the 18th to 20th centuries. Over the years, I’ve explored 17 of the 18 islands – with only the uninhabited Lítla Dímun still on my list. I’ve climbed 66 of the 340 peaks, hiked countless cairn trails, explored just about every single village, and scoured all the local thrift shops in search of Faroese wool sweaters.
Here, you’ll find a collection of every post I’ve ever written about the Faroe Islands – over 110 and counting!
