One of the least visited countries in the world is also one of the most beautiful. I kid you not, Tajikistan is one of the most naturally outstanding countries I’ve ever been to, and I really don’t understand why the masses haven’t discovered it yet. But that’s what makes Tajikistan so special. It’s remote and secluded, so you’ll have it all to yourself.

During my Asia trip in 2016, I spent a month travelling around Central Asia with my friend Steve. After spending a while in Kyrgyzstan, we embarked on an epic journey along the Pamir Highway, the second highest altitude highway in the world. The journey took us through the remote autonomous region of Gorno-Badakhshan, to villagers where westerners are rarely seen. We drove all the way to Khorog, the capital of the region, from where we travelled to North Afghanistan.

When we got back from our little detour to the war-torn country, we flew through the Pamir Mountains to Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan, where we stayed for a day with a new friend before driving to Khujand, our last stop in the beautiful country.
