I first got a brief taste of Slovenia during a summer roadtrip through Europe in 2013, when my family and I drove through the country on our way to Croatia. To me, Slovenia felt like a magical fairytale land – lush and pristine. I swore I’d come back one day.
That day finally came in March 2018, when my mum and I chose Slovenia for our annual mother-daughter trip. We spent four unforgettable days exploring the snow-covered country while based in charming Ljubljana. We hiked around the enchanting Lake Bled, its castle perched like a jewel above the turquoise waters. We took a ski lift above Lake Bohinj to Vogel, soaking in panoramic mountain views. And we spent hours wandering the vast underground labyrinth of the Škocjan Caves, marveling at their mysterious depths.
