An archaeological conference in Cardiff in December 2017 brought me to Wales for the first time! I don’t know why it took me so long to go, as Wales had always been a dream destination of mine. While I thought Cardiff was a nice city, it was really the one day that we had in Brecon Beacons National Park that made me adore the country. Despite the constant rain, the nature was absolutely stunning. We made a somewhat silly choice climbing the highest mountain in the area in thin sneakers, but what’s an adventure without a little struggle?
I still dream of coming back to Wales, especially to explore Snowdonia National Park and climb the highest mountain in the country!
